Grade Three with Mrs. Stewart!!

Reminders: September 30 th is a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation meant to commemorate the history and legacy of Residential Schools in Canada. On Tues day , September 2 9 th, students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt or something else with orange to recognize Orange Shirt Day and the National Truth and Reconciliation Day.   Students will be engaging in learning throughout the week to honor this important day. Through read a louds and learning tasks , students will focus on understanding what they each need to feel safe and cared for at school and to consider this question: “What action can each member of our school community do to make sure every student feels safe and cared for at school, everyday?” This is an opportunity for Northern Lights students and staff to come together in the spirit of reconciliation to show their support of a safe, respectful and caring school community.  Reminders: Next Thursday is Meet The Teacher Open House.   Highlights of Grade Three: yesterday was the Terry Fox Run!!! We got to do it twice, once with our kindergarten buddies and once with the Grade Three's! we had a fire drill today and we did AMAZING!!!! we went for a community walk today to see Coventry Hills School (this would be our school to evacuate to if we ever need to) we did a science experiment called Pepper Germs - ask me about this! we practiced place value up to 100 000 (One Hundred Thousand!!!) I should practice this at home as well!!! we did literacy stations yesterday!  we had circle time outside yesterday
